Johnny Cache

Director of Lab Operations

Johnny Cache received his Masters in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2006. His thesis work, which focused on fingerprinting 802.11 device drivers, won the Gary Kildall award for most innovative computer science thesis. Johnny wrote his first program on a Tandy 128K color computer sincetime in 1988. Since then, he has spoken at several security conferences including BlackHat, Bluehat, Defcon and Toorcon. He is most recognized for his work on fuzzing and exploiting 802.11 device drivers, which resulted in many kernel level patches.

Nick Bax PhD

Director of Analytics

Nick fell in love with cryptocurrency forensics while finishing his PhD in structural biology at Stanford. He has led numerous cybercrime investigations and has published research on a wide variety of topics related to blockchain analysis including market abuse detection and deobfuscation of anonymity-enhanced cryptocurrency transactions.

Eric Michaud

Eric Michaud is an expert in physical and cybersecurity with over 15 years experience. He was a computer and physical security analyst at Argonne National Laboratory, where he worked on nuclear security, counter proliferation tools development, and voting machine security. Founder of Rift Recon - a Red Team company that developed offensive hardware tools for the Penetration Tester market.

Chris “Weld Pond” Wysopal

Chris Wysopal is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Veracode, which pioneered the concept of using automated static binary analysis to discover vulnerabilities in software. He is a member of the executive team. Prior to Veracode, Chris was vice president of research and development at security consultancy @stake, which was acquired by Symantec.

In the 1990’s, Chris was one of the original vulnerability researchers at The L0pht, a hacker think tank, where he was one of the first to publicize the risks of insecure software. He has testified to the US Congress on the subjects of government security and how vulnerabilities are discovered in software.

Stewart Baker

Stewart Baker is a Partner in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP. He served as General Counsel of the NSA and Assistant Secretary for Policy at the Department of Homeland Security. At DHS he was responsible for policy analysis across the department, as well as for the department’s international affairs, strategic planning and relationships with law enforcement and public advisory committees. His legal practice focuses on cybersecurity, CFIUS, export controls, government procurement, and immigration and regulation of international travel. Baker has a JD from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and a BA from Brown University. He hosts the Cyberlaw Podcast.

Ash Kalb

Ash is Co-Founder of Fulcra Dynamics, Katalys Ventures and HUMAN (formerly White Ops), as well as former COO/GC of Sentieo and Founder of Singularity&Co. He is also an attorney who previously worked at Skadden, Arps. He serves on several boards (including Gemini) and advises and invests in a number of technology companies.

Ed Zitron is the CEO of EZPR, a national tech and business public relations agency. He is also the author of tech and culture newsletter Where's Your Ed At.
